ABD Mobile is a solar powered mobile recording truck based in Los Angeles, CA.

 

We offer a full featured mobile recording studio that can travel to locations ideal for their inspiration and sound whether its a concert hall, cabin, rehearsal space, airbnb, or other unique destination.

We're operated by a small staff of experienced engineers using well-maintained equipment that pros have relied on for decades.  Our truck offers the same equipment found in traditional brick and mortar LA studios: a fully discrete large format analog console, outboard by UREI, API, DBX, and over 60 microphones by AKG, Neumann, Telefunken, Beyerdynamic, Electro-Voice, Shure and more.  We are always striving to improve the function and quality of our equipment and recording techniques. Much of our equipment and cabling is built by us or modified to improve workflow, setup time and sound quality.

Acclaimed studio acoustician George Augspurger consulted on the control room design and worked in person to test and tune our control room.  Our monitoring is a very big sounding but honest representation of the recording making critical tracking and mixing decisions fast and dependable.

 

Unlike other audio trucks and mobile recording setups, our entire studio, HVAC and all amenities are solar powered.  This renewable power is stored using batteries so we can be powered on and working day or night.  Our truck can also supply power to musical instruments and equipment used by performers such as amps, keyboards, laptops, etc.

Additionally, our truck offers a mobile, sound treated, air conditioned and power equipped solution for concerts, ADR, and other fields needing additional production space on location.  We can connect to spaces up to 500' away via analog, CAT6, or fiber and have Dante AoIP available.
